| Job Description | Health and Care Worker Visa – SOC 6146 |
| 1. Role Summary | The Senior Care Worker provides regulated, person-centred care and support to individuals in their own homes or supported living environments, while also taking a lead role in supervising staff, coordinating care delivery, and ensuring quality and compliance. The role falls under SOC Code 6146 – Senior Care Workers and is eligible for sponsorship under the Health and Care Worker Visa route. |
| 2. Role Purpose (Senior Element) | In addition to direct care delivery, the Senior Care Worker takes responsibility for shifts, provides supervision to Care Workers, supports care planning and monitoring, and acts as a point of escalation for concerns and emergencies. |
| 3. Key Duties and Responsibilities | Personal Care: Provide and oversee personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, continence care, and mobility support. Medication and Health Support: Administer and record medication, monitor health and wellbeing, and escalate concerns appropriately. Leadership: Supervise staff, lead shifts, support induction and training, and respond to incidents and emergencies. Domestic and Emotional Support: Ensure domestic tasks are completed in line with care plans and provide emotional and social support. Compliance and Records: Maintain accurate care records and ensure compliance with CQC standards, GDPR, and organisational policies. |
| 4. Skills and Competencies | Strong understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding, leadership abilities, medication competence, excellent communication, and ability to work independently. |
| 5. Qualifications and Experience | Essential: Minimum 2 years in care and Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or commitment to achieve. Mandatory training required. Desirable: Supervisory experience and community care background. |
| 6. Additional Requirements | Enhanced DBS check, flexible working, right to work checks, and commitment to professional development. |
| 7. Working Hours and Salary | Full-time, minimum 39 hours per week. Salary meets Health and Care Worker visa requirements for SOC 6146. |
